How do I make a link to an electronic journal article?

There are several ways to link to electronic journal articles.

Many electronic documents, such as journal articles, are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) by the publisher, for example 10.1111/0272-4332.211099. This is a permanent identifier for locating details, and usually an electronic copy, of the document. The DOI is more stable and persistent than a URL, often shorter, and therefore frequently the best link to use. To make a link to a DOI, add the prefix: http://libproxy.bath.ac.uk/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/

Hence the link for the article with the DOI given above would be:
http://libproxy.bath.ac.uk/login?url=http://dx.doi.org/10.1111/0272-4332.211099

However, if your article is not at the publisher’s website, or doesn’t have a DOI (for example, it may be in Business Source Premier or another database) you should look for a “permalink”.  Copy the permalink, and add the prefix: http://libproxy.bath.ac.uk/login?url=

This will create a link which enables use on- and off-campus.
